TEAM ROSTER RULES
- Roster Submission: Teams are required to submit an official roster form to their league representative by the deadline set by said representative in each region.
- Roster Capacity: Teams are permitted a maximum of 24 active players
- Player Information: All players must have a unique uniform number. There shall never be players on an active roster with the same number.
- Roster Changes: Teams may add or drop players up to the start of their 11th game or they cross the 50% threshold of their season (if different from the standard 20 game season).
- Franchise Players: Organizations with teams in multiple levels, must franchise their top 8 players and one goaltender (subject to league review) on any team with a team in the division below it.
- Roster Movement: Players may move up or down with in an organization, until such time they have become playoff eligible in any division. Franchise players can not play down from their rostered division ever.
- Playoff Eligibility: Players must play in 50% of games to be eligible for the playoffs. Once eligibility is reached, players are no longer permitted to be dropped or played on another team in the organization.
- RHA Membership: All players are required to have an active RHA member to participate.
2023/2024 PIHA Roster Cap Standards
Player Tag Index
- (WP) – World Players: All 2023-24 Men’s World Team Players
- (TP) – Tournament Pro Players: Torhs/Narch/State Wars Summer Nationals Pro Team Players, on four or more rosters the last two years
- (PP) – PIHA Pro Players: Any Player who played 10 or more Pro level games in the previous season.
- (PSP) - PIHA Semi-Pro Players: Any Player who played 10 or more Semi-Pro level games in the previous season.
PIHA Pro Division
- No team may have more than 3 total WP tag players.
- No team may have more than 8 total TP tag players (WP tag players count as one TP player).
- WP goaltenders will only count as one TP.
- The goaltending position only counts as one total TP, whereas you may have two WP/TP tag goalies, but it only counts for one total roster cap spot.
PIHA Semi-Pro Division
- No team may have more than 1 total TP player (unless the league makes an exception in an expansion area)
- WP Players are restricted from playing this division (unless the league makes an exception in an expansion area)
- No team may add more than 2 total PP tag players to a roster, unless within the same organization, pending roster approval.
- Exceptions to the above rule are allowed, if the league permits an entire team to move down a division, based on past performance, or in the case of expansion teams, with roster approval.
- Goaltenders are not an exception and are subject to the tag rule.
PIHA Minor Division
- WP & TP players are restricted from playing this division (unless the league makes an exception in an expansion area)
- No team may add more than 2 total PSP tag players to a roster, unless within the same organization, pending roster approval.
- Exceptions to the above rule are allowed, if the league permits an entire team to move down a division, based on past performance, or in the case of expansion teams, with roster approval.
- Goaltenders are not an exception and are subject to the tag rule.
