The Southeast is Buzzing with Excitement

by Anthony Flynn

With it's inaugural season last year, the Dixie division's draft minor league sparked excitement in the region.  After a bumpy, yet successful campaign, the region began to come to life during the off-season.  Now with the draft league is in the rear view mirror,  a more traditional model has begun to take flight.  Out of the ashes of the Dixie division, new leadership emerged and is preparing for both a semi-pro and minor division this season.  Organizations have entered from Jacksonville, FL, Nashville, TN, Atlanta, GA, and Raleigh, NC.  In addition a single minor program will enter from Ashville, NC.

With almost impeccable timing, long time PIHA/AIHL Head Referee Chris Roche has recently retired from his day job and moved to region.  His service will be crucial to the development of a successful merger into the PIHA for this region.

The group of team managers has had weekly meetings in preparation and a schedule is in development.  Expect exciting things from this division this season, we will all be watching.
