The Suffolk Sting punched their ticket to the PIHA Pro East Division Finals with a commanding 2-0 series sweep over the Moriches Sting. Behind explosive offensive performances from PJ DiMartino, Billy Pascalli, and KJ Tiefenwerth, as well as shutdown goaltending, Suffolk proved to be too much for Moriches to handle.

Game 1: Suffolk Takes Control in a 6-3 Victory

The series opener saw a back-and-forth battle in the first period, but Suffolk took control in the second to secure the 6-3 win.

First Period

Suffolk opened the scoring with Anthony Koslow’s goal at 5:06, assisted by Tiefenwerth and Ted Matos. Billy Pascalli added a power-play goal at 1:56, while Matos scored in the final seconds to give Suffolk a 3-1 lead after the first.

Second Period

The Sting extended their lead in the second period with another three-goal outburst. PJ DiMartino and Pascalli struck twice in two minutes, with Jordan Mula sealing the win at 6:08. Moriches managed two late goals, but Suffolk’s defense held firm for the 6-3 win.

Game 2: Suffolk Completes the Sweep with a 9-0 Shutout

Suffolk completely dominated Game 2, outshooting Moriches 27-16 and scoring seven goals in the first period to put the game out of reach early.

First Period: Offensive Explosion

The Sting came out flying, scoring seven unanswered goals in the opening period. PJ DiMartino led the charge with six goals, while Tiefenwerth and Mula added their own tallies.

Second Period: Locking It Down

Suffolk continued their relentless attack, adding two more goals from Mula and DiMartino to cap off the 9-0 shutout. Moriches had no answers offensively, as Suffolk’s defense and goaltending completely smothered them.
