Shockwave Sweep Iron Knights, Roll Into Keystone Minor Final

Steel City is one step from a division championship.

The Steel City Shockwave booked their spot in the Keystone Minor Division Final with a two-game sweep of the Pottstown Rink Rat Iron Knights, taking Game 1, 6–4, before delivering a 7–2 statement in Game 2.

The win sets up a Division Final matchup against the winner of the Geese Chasers vs. Scream semifinal, with Game 1 scheduled for Saturday at 8:00 PM and Games 2 and (if necessary) 3 set for Sunday.

Game 1 — Shockwave 6, Iron Knights 4

Game 1 was a track meet from the start, with both teams trading chances and finishing within three shots of each other (Steel City 23, Pottstown 20).

Steel City’s difference-makers showed up early and often. Marco DeLisi (#99) opened the scoring (11:08), and the Shockwave followed with two goals at 5:16—first Nate Loughner (#67), then Kyle Rosendale (#92)—to match Pottstown’s three first-period tallies and keep the game tight heading into the second.

From there, Steel City leaned on its top-end finish:

  • Rosendale struck again (8:07, assisted by Loughner),

  • Jory Rodgers (#17) added what proved to be the winner (5:41, assisted by Loughner),

  • and DeLisi closed it out late (4:18, assisted by Rosendale).

Pottstown got goals from John Vitali (#12), Alec Moyer (#93), Nate Crammer (#28), and Cody Rotkiske (#22), but Shockwave goalie Jacob Proskin (#33) stood tall with 16 saves to secure the 1–0 series lead.

Game 2 — Shockwave 7, Iron Knights 2

If Game 1 was competitive, Game 2 was a Shockwave blitz.

Steel City jumped out 4–1 after the first and never looked back, finishing with a 22–18 shot advantage and turning the game into a clinic in pace and conversion.

The headline: Kyle Rosendale and Nate Loughner took over.

  • Rosendale posted four goals, including a short-handed marker at 7:34 and a power-play goal at 9:38.

  • Loughner answered with a hat trick, punctuated by a late second-period finish at 6:18.

Jory Rodgers orchestrated the attack with three assists, and Steel City got key support from the back end in transition as well.

The Iron Knights’ offense came from Hayden Schrift (#7) and Cody Rotkiske (#22), but Shockwave goalie Jesse Koewacich (#35) shut the door with 16 saves to complete the sweep.

Series Notes

Across two games, Steel City’s top line production was overwhelming—Rosendale (6 goals in the series) and Loughner (4 goals) led the way and repeatedly flipped momentum with quick-strike scoring.
