Semi-Pro Round Robin Opens with Fireworks: Snipers and Mops Jump Out Early at PIHA Finals

The PIHA Finals opened Friday morning in Colorado Springs with the first six games of the Semi-Pro round robin—the opening two rounds in a format that will determine Saturday’s playoff seeding.

All six Semi-Pro division winners will play three round robin games before being slotted into their respective elimination brackets on Saturday. Through the first two rounds, two teams have separated themselves from the pack early: the Long Island Empire Snipers and the Raleigh Mops, both unbeaten and both making loud statements with their pace and finishing.

Round Robin Results (First 6 Games)

8:30am — Long Island Empire Snipers 4, New Jersey Assault 2

The Snipers opened the Finals with a composed, efficient win, setting the tone for an unbeaten morning and putting New Jersey in early chase mode at 0–1.

9:10am — Raleigh Mops 6, Marple Gladiators 3

Raleigh came out flying, turning an early-round matchup into a high-scoring showcase and immediately establishing themselves as one of the teams to beat.

9:50am — Mile High Blizzard 3, Arvada Fire 2

The Blizzard edged the Fire in one of the tightest games of the morning session, a one-goal battle that foreshadowed just how thin the margins will be once Saturday’s bracket play begins.

10:30am — New Jersey Assault 4, Marple Gladiators 3

New Jersey answered back in a major way, bouncing from their opening loss to grab a one-goal win over Marple and keep their round robin alive. For the Gladiators, the 0–2 start means the third game becomes a must-have for seeding purposes.

11:10am — Long Island Empire Snipers 4, Mile High Blizzard 2

Long Island stayed perfect, backing up their opening win by handing the Blizzard their first loss. Through two games, the Snipers have looked balanced and confident—exactly the profile you want in a short round robin.

11:50am — Raleigh Mops 8, Arvada Fire 1

The loudest result of the morning belonged to Raleigh. The Mops didn’t just win—they overwhelmed, dropping an 8-spot and sending a message to the entire field that their attack is already in midseason form.

Where Things Stand After Two Rounds

  • 2–0: Long Island Empire Snipers, Raleigh Mops
  • 1–1: New Jersey Assault, Mile High Blizzard
  • 0–2: Marple Gladiators, Arvada Fire

With one game remaining for each team, the final round robin slate will carry major seeding implications—especially for the middle of the pack, where a 2–1 finish versus 1–2 could swing matchups dramatically in Saturday’s elimination playoffs.

What’s Next

The final Semi-Pro round robin games will be played late Friday, following Game 2 of the Pro series. With the table set and pressure rising, the last round should feel a lot like playoff hockey—because for several teams, it essentially is.
