2024/25 Season set to Commence on Saturday
The 2024/25 season of the Professional Inline Hockey Association begins on Saturday, as all ten minor teams in the Metropolitan and Atlantic Divisions collide. The first pucks will drop at 2:00pm, as two games will kick off the new campaign. Skate Safe America in Old Bethpage, NY will host the event, as the teams go to battle on both of their rinks simultaneously.
The very first games will feature the NJ Jagaloons vs the Suffolk Sting and on the opposing rink the Mach 1 Elite Jokers will square off with the Champion Purple Pandas. The Jagaloons may be getting thrown right into the Fire in the inaugural PIHA game, as they face a Sting team who won their division going away last season and may still be reeling from a heartbreaking sweep in the league championship series last Spring. The other game features two brand new minor teams. The Jokers were born from the ashes of the now defunct Flamingos organization, while the Purple Pandas are a part of the growing Trash Pandas franchise.
Other new squads making their debut over the weekend include the Legends Platinum, who are now the third minor team in the Legends Franchise, the Mach 1 Moustache also make their league debut this weekend.
In total 20 total games will be played over 6 1/2 hours of minor league action.
