Prowlers, Thunder Split Opening Series in Colorado Springs

by CJ Yoder

The Parker Prowlers and Colorado Springs Thunder renewed their rivalry on Friday night as they faced off in the PIHA Pro opener in Colorado Springs. Both teams have some new faces on their roster, as Ryan Wass-Tursick debuted for the Prowlers against his former team. On the Thunder, Josh Stove and goaltender Keith Seiberlich were new acquisitions from the Vikings.

In the first game, the Thunder and Prowlers were close through the game, but a hat-trick by Cody Ayers was the difference as the Thunder beat the Thunder 6-3. In the Rocky Mountain Division, all teams play back-to-back, so the Prowlers had the ability to respond quickly in the second game. Parker was able to take advantage of a penalty-filled second game, as they scored an impressive 3 power-play goals in the contest. Seth Swenson netted a hat-trick to give the Prowlers the split in the two-game series, winning the second game 7-2. You can view the livestream of the games on our Facebook page.
