Gladiators Need Three to get by Sting Rays

The defending semi-pro champions drew the 309 Sting Rays in the division qtr-final round.  The Sting Rays seemingly got better every weekend and proved to be a tough opponent for the 3rd seed Glads.  In game one, the Glads tallied early and road the early lead to victory.  Game two however, saw a completely different script.  The Sting Rays managed to score first and then boxed out the Glads, frustrating them and eventually the Rays won in overtime.  309 goalie Tyler Gilbert was the star of the game, as he kept his team alive all game.  Game three played much more like game one.  The Gladiators scored early and didn't allow the Sting Rays to employ their box technique.  In the wide open sytle game, the Glads dominated and ended up winning the series clincher and advanced to a Sunday meeting with Wheel City.
