East Coast Semi-Pro Teams Set
The Semi-Final playoffs were held in two locations over the weekend. Northeast playoffs were held at Skate Safe in Old Bethpage, NY, while the Atlantic playoffs were played at ISCA in North Arlington, NJ. Both divisions would play down from their six teams, down to just the final two standing.
In the Northeast division, it was the two top seeds who advanced. After winning their quarter-final series on Saturday the Suffolk Sting and Empire Legends both would fall to their Sunday opponents the Rink Rat Aces and Champion Impact.
In the Atlantic division, the Philadelphia Deuces and Unify Bobby's Boys advanced through the quarter-final round on Saturday to face off against the division's top two seeds. The Gladiators defeated the Bobby's Boys, wining game two in an incredible goaltender duel, which ended 1-0 very late in the first overtime. The Deuces earned their way to the final, with the mild upset of the Snipers, making them the only team without a bye over the weekend to advance.
The four teams advancing will join the Hershey Typhoon and Gotta Hockey as the six semi-pro teams to represent the east coast at the Finals later this month.
