10/14 Yellow Breeches Recap (Minor)
Following the Pros at Yellow Breeches Saturday, a full evening of PIHA minor action took place. The Philadelphia Deuces and Champion Trash Pandas started their seasons a few weeks prior on Long Island, while the Steel City Shockwave and defending East Coast minor champion Susquehanna Scream were set to start their season.
The Trash Pandas had a successful trip to Long Island earning two regulation and two overtime victories. They continued their hot start with another four victories, this time all in regulation. Included in those wins was a buzzer beating 3-2 win over the Scream with just one second left on the game clock.
The Deuces earned four points on the night. They split a pair with the Shockwave, lost a lopsided game to the Trash Pandas, and lost an OT game to the Scream.
The defending champs struggled out of the gate. After losing to the Trash Pandas with one second left, they managed to do it again, this time to the Deuces with just three seconds left. Not the start the Scream was hoping for, but they did manage a 2-1 victory of the Shockwave that took an overtime effort. They finioshed the day with a second loss to the first place Trash Pandas.
The Shockwave, fresh off relegation from Semi-Pro , found a competitive home in their new division. They split a pair of games with the Deuces 6-2 and 1-4, lost in overtime to the Scream, and lose in regulation to the Trash Pandas 3-5.
Once again the minor division proves to be highly competitive and everyone should look forward to a great night of hockey when ever these teams meet.
