1/13 Yellow Breeches Recap (Semi-Pro)

by Anthony Flynn

With one weekend left to play, the Atlantic division all met in Harrisburg for their final four games of the season.  Originally the event was scheduled for the weekend prior, but a winter storm forced the use of the make up weekend.  Multiple team's man power was subsequently affected, due to the change.  Having already notified the league of their intention not to participate in the playoffs, the 309 Sting Rays forfeited all four of their final games, giving multiple teams a 1-0 victory.

The top three teams all had their sights set on the top spot in the Atlantic division.  Propel MG was among the teams affected by the schedule change.  Although they were one of the teams awarded with a win against the Sting Rays, they managed only four skaters and a goalie for the event.  Having won their first game against the Blizzard in overtime, they would then get blown out against the Deuces, and then forfeit their final game against the Gladiators.

The Deuces, although winning all four of their games, needed the Gladiators to lose a game in regulation.  That however did not happen, as the Glads took care of business in all of their games as well.  They finish in the coveted first spot, which awards them a first round walk through, as the Sting Rays will not be attending the playoff weekend.

Positions 4-5-6 were also in contention, and it was the Fusion Blizzard who edged out the Iron Knights for the 4th position.  The two will square off in the first round one week from today.  FInishing in 6th would be the Hershey Typhoon and draw Propel MG in the first round next week.  Finally the Grizzlies finished in 7th place and will match up with the Deuces, a rematch of last season's first round match up.
