(Semi) Arvada Fire Sneak Past Littleton

After a game one surprise the Arvade FIre found themselves on the brink of elimination to their cross organization mates, the Littleton Fire.  A second period tie breaking goal was the difference in game two for Arvada, setting up a winner take all game three.  While game one and two were tight affairs, it was all the higher seeded Arvada Fire in game three, who now advance to the PIHA Finals for the second straight season.

Game 1: Thrilling Overtime Victory for Littleton Fire Over Arvada Fire

In an electrifying match that kept fans on the edge of their seats, the Littleton Fire staged a remarkable comeback to secure a 5-4 overtime win against the Arvada Fire. The game, the first of the best of three, was filled with intense moments and a showcase of skill from both teams.

The game started with the Arvada Fire taking the lead in the first period, thanks to a goal by Dylan Fridlund, assisted by Cody Whitmore. This early momentum continued into the second period, with Arvada Fire strengthening their lead to 4-1, courtesy of goals from Cody Whitmore, Henry Jensen (two goals), with assists again involving Whitmore and Fridlund.

However, the Littleton Fire refused to be extinguished. Late in the second period, they ignited a comeback that saw them level the score 4-4. Cameron King initiated the scoring, followed by two consecutive goals from Spencer Coltrain, and an equalizer by Ben Ekberg, assisted by Will Deering, erasing the deficit and setting the stage for a dramatic overtime.

Overtime was a tense affair, with both teams having opportunities to clinch the victory. However, it was the Littleton Fire who emerged victorious, thanks to a decisive goal by Austin Granmoe, assisted by Andrew Steinhauer, at 9:41 into the overtime period.

The game started with Littleton Fire setting the pace, as Mark Ekberg, assisted by Matt Braun, netted the first goal at the 12-minute mark, signaling a strong start for Littleton. However, the lead was short-lived. Arvada Fire responded with vigor, with Christopher Diner, off an assist from Jerrod Keelen, leveling the score to 1-1. The game, marked by Arvada Fire's offensive prowess and defensive solidity, left little room for Littleton Fire to maneuver, culminating in a clean sheet for Arvada Fire.

From the onset, Arvada Fire established a commanding presence on the field. Cody Whitmore opened the scoring for Arvada Fire at the 12-minute mark, setting the tone for the rest of the match. Not long after, Bryan Huke, with an assist from Whitmore, doubled their lead, showcasing the effective coordination among Arvada Fire players.

The onslaught continued with Chris Dalton finding the back of the net, thanks to a setup from Christopher Diner, further extending Arvada Fire's lead. Caleb Fanch, with an assist from Dylan Fridlund, rounded off an exceptional first half for Arvada Fire by scoring the fourth goal, demonstrating their offensive versatility and depth.
